Did you know that Sylvester Stallone was in a war, or was that an exaggeration? Yes, he did fight in the Vietnam War. And his friend Dan Hillard did as well.
These two martial arts students fought for a limited amount of time before the Vietnam War ended. However, they both went on to win several gold medals, and have stayed in contact through their martial arts training.
To this day, these two live in Los Angeles, where they train all the time. The fight happened in their hometown, too. I have a picture of it.
I wrote this article about two experiences that Sylvester Stallone had in his life. There is no reason to make this any more real than it already is. The point is that he also has a friend who made it big as a movie star.
I find friendship interesting. Sylvester and Dan have great lives in Los Angeles, but there is more to this friendship than meets the eye. It’s about how a person develops relationships with people, and how this is one of the key traits for success.
These two had very different paths, which could explain why Sylvester started out in martial arts. Sylvester was a nerd, who liked to do some of the oddest things. He would get punched in the face by people who didn’t deserve it. He would get his hand broken, too.
Dan had better options. He studied, earned a degree, and worked for a living. His path was a lot smoother.
Sylvester started out as a nerd, and eventually became a nerd and then a martial arts champion. This was the opposite of Dan. Dan had a career and a happy marriage.
Sylvester got married and became a single father. He was depressed for many years until he met his wife and found happiness again.
I have never met Dan, but I’ve known him and Sylvester for years. They live in the same neighborhood and speak to each other at least once a month.
They have done this whole thing before, too. Dan was a world champion in fencing, and Sylvester has a successful career in the martial arts, too.
So these two grew up in the same area, trained in the same martial arts, and then came together. They became best friends, and then later became brothers. They just so happen to go through the same experience in life.
